Use artificial intelligence to generate complete cabinet layouts from text descriptions or uploaded sketches
Overview
The AI Layout Assistant uses artificial intelligence to help you create cabinet layouts from descriptions or sketches. Describe what you want or upload a photo/sketch, and the AI generates a complete cabinet layout with dimensions, materials, and configurations.
How It Works
- Open the AI Chat — Click the AI assistant button in the editor toolbar
- Describe Your Project — Type a text description of what you need, OR
- Upload a Sketch/Photo — Upload an image of a hand-drawn sketch, photo of an existing kitchen, or reference image
- AI Generates Layout — The AI analyzes your input and creates a complete cabinet project
- Review & Apply — Review the generated layout and apply it to your current project
- Fine-tune — Adjust individual cabinets, materials, and settings as needed
Text Descriptions
You can describe your cabinet needs in natural language:

"Create a kitchen with 3 base cabinets (600mm, 800mm, 600mm wide) and 3 matching upper cabinets"
"I need a 2400mm wide wall of floor-to-ceiling storage with mixed doors and drawers"
"Design a bathroom vanity 1200mm wide with double doors and a drawer on top"
The AI interprets your description and generates:
- Appropriate number of cabinets
- Standard dimensions based on cabinet type
- Suitable front types (doors, drawers)
- Logical construction settings
Image Upload
Upload images for the AI to analyze:
- Hand-drawn sketches with dimensions
- Photos of existing kitchens/cabinets
- Reference images from catalogs or websites
- Floor plan drawings
- Number and arrangement of cabinets
- Approximate dimensions
- Front types (doors vs drawers)
- Layout organization
Generated Output
The AI creates a complete layout including:
- Individual cabinet definitions with dimensions
- Front type assignments
- Suggested material pairings
- Logical cabinet naming
- Basic positioning (3D coordinates)
Tips for Best Results
- Be specific about dimensions when you know them
- Mention the room type (kitchen, bathroom, office) for context
- Include specific requirements like "soft-close drawers" or "open shelving"
- Upload clear, well-lit images for best AI analysis
- Use the generated layout as a starting point — always fine-tune dimensions to exact measurements
- Describe the overall width available so the AI can plan accordingly
Limitations
- AI-generated dimensions are approximate — always verify before production
- Complex L-shaped or U-shaped layouts may need manual adjustment
- Image analysis works best with clear, front-facing photos
- The AI uses standard cabinet dimensions — custom sizes may need manual entry
Integration with Editor
Once the AI generates a layout:
- All cabinets appear in your cabinet list
- Each cabinet is fully editable
- Materials can be changed individually
- Dimensions can be adjusted to exact specifications
- All standard features (cut lists, exports, etc.) work immediately
